Advent and Christmas

at Kingston Springs United Methodist Church


Christmas and the season leading up to it are very special at Kingston Springs United Methodist Church. There are activities for all ages and worship is inspiring as we prepare to celebrate the birth of Christ. Mark your calendar - Please be a part of any and all that is happening.

Sundays - Normal Schedule (nursery provided)
8:30-9:00 am Titans Time Worship (i.e. early worship during NFL season)
9:15-10:15 am Sunday School classes for all ages
10:25-11:35 am Worship (special music throughout holiday season)
6:00-7:00 pm Senior High Youth Comfort Zone (335 Oak Street)

Wednesdays - Normal Schedule (nursery provided)
5:45-6:15 pm Dinner ($5 adults, $3 children)
6:30-7:30 pm Adult Choir Practice (in sanctuary)
6:30-8:00 pm Children’s Ministry (K thru 3rd in Upper Room)
6:30-8:00 pm Jr Youth Group (4th thru 6th at 335 Oak Street)
6:30-8:00 pm Youth Group (7th thru 12th at Youth Annex)
7:00-8:00 pm Pastor’s Bible Study (in Fellowship Hall)

Saturday, November 26, 10 am ‘til Noon - Advent Decorating Day
All are invited to come help decorate the church.
Saturday, December 3, 7 pm at Kingston Springs UMC sanctuary
The Messiah selections by the South Cheatham Choral Society and a chamber orchestra (donations accepted)
Sunday, December 4, 2 pm at Kingston Springs UMC sanctuary

Tuesday, December 6, 7 pm United Methodist Women Christmas Dinner at Red Tree Restaurant
Thursday, December 8, Christmas at Beersheba (all-day; reservations required; talk with pastor)

Alternative Giving Marketplace 11:35 am in Fellowship Hall
Gift Wrapping and Christmas videos 4-7pm at the church
Encourage your friends and family to come watch videos while the youth wrap their Christmas presents for donations. This is open to anyone.

Cantata during the worship service at 10:25 am
Youth Fundraiser Soup Lunch after worship
Church-wide Christmas Caroling in the community (about 1 pm)
Hot Chocolate after Caroling (about 3 pm)
Saturday, December 24, 11:00 til Midnight - Christmas Eve Service
This warm family service will feature special music, story telling, candlelighting, and a closing with the ringing of the midnight chimes to welcome Christmas Day. Families are encouraged to bring children in their “jammies” to this wonderful service.
Sunday, December 25, 10:25 am - Christmas Worship
What a celebration! The Bell Choir will play and we will sing extra Christmas music. There will be no early Titans Time Worship, Sunday School or Senior High Youth Comfort Zone this day.

ADULT STUDIES
Beth Tiesler, Education Chairperson

ADULT SUNDAY SHOOL CLASSES are every Sunday 9:15 til 10:15. Meet in the sanctuary at 9:15 before going to class.
The Generation Gap class meets in the Fellowship Hall beside the kitchen. They use the International Bible Study series and rotate leadership.
The Coffee 'n' Chat class meets in the Nashville Transfer office on Main Street. They are led by Tommy Gossett in discussions of relevant topics.

ADULT BIBLE STUDY is every Wednesday at 7 pm in the Fellowship Hall. This study is usually led by the pastor.

YOUTH MINISTRY CONTINUES YEAR-ROUND FOR ANY STUDENT 4TH THRU 12 GRADE

YOUTH SUNDAY SCHOOL classes are every Sunday 9:15 til 10:15. Meet in the sanctuary at 9:15 before going to class.
 
JR YOUTH GROUP (grades 4 through 6) meets every Wednesday from 6:30 til 8 pm at the Oak House
YOUTH GROUP (grades 7-12) meets every Wednesday from 6:30 til 8 pm at the Youth Annex on Main Street
SENIOR HIGH COMFORT ZONE (grades 9-12) gathers every Sunday from 6 to 7 pm at the Oak House (335 Oak Street)
This is an active and growing ministry at KSUMC led by Malinda Stenberg, musician and youth leader extraordinaire!
 
On Wednesdays all youth meet first at the church at 6:30 (all are invited to eat dinner at 5:45 pm; $5). The Junior Youth Group (4th-6th) walks up to the Oak House to meet. The Youth Group (7th-12th) walks down Main Street to the former fitness center (graciously provided by Mr. Gerald Himmer). The group walks back to the church at 8 pm. Parents please drop off and pick up at the church.
 
Senior High students (freshman thru seniors) have an opportunity to meet informally and confidentially for Comfort Zone (tough questions and touchy topics) Sundays from 6 to 7 pm at the Oak House. The pastor and one or two other adults are on hand to help conversation.
 
SPECIAL ACTIVITIES are announced as planned. Youth and parents are encouraged to be on the email and text message lists.
